Rashtrapati Bhawan:
The president house is situated in raisina hill near the india gate. One should visit the magnificent building of the rastra pati bhawan for the beautiful architecture and historical importance. Every year thousands of people visit the beautiful mughal garden in Rashtrapati Bhawan every day. The garden is open the whole season of spring is the most beautiful garden in india.
Parliament House:
This is a historical monument, also listed in the world heritage monuments. This is known as the Sansad Bhawan in the local language. Parliament house the big circular building build and designed by Sir Lutyeus. The parliament house is located in the central delhi near the president house (Rastrapati Bhawan ) india gate. The circular building has 144 pillars giving it a beautiful look. The parliament house is the place where all the big ministers elected by our democracy design the structure of the rules and regulate them.
Qutab Minar :
The tallest minar in india has glory of being the tallest free standing minaret in the world. Build by qutab –ul-din elibake in 1199 AD. A nice piece of architecture showcasing the islamic styles. There are several other small structure at present in the ruins surrounding the qutab minar. Its is a UNESCO Heritage site worth a visit.
India Gate :
This was memorial is a tall, proud and strong gate. Stands tall and proud holding the glory of the brave solders, worries who died in the war field fighting for their mother laud INDIA. India Gate was built in 1931. The India Gate is located near the Raj Path, President House and the Parliament. On the Republic Day every year with great glory and pride the national day parade is carried out. The president takes the salute of the parade.
Red Fort :
Red Fort or The Lal Quila as known in hindi is a big Red Stone. World Heritage site in new delhi. The name Lal Quila is deserved from the Red (Lal) Stone, Quila means (Fort). The fort was constructed during the Mughal era by Shah Jahan in 1648, The fist is on the right side bank of river Yamuna. Shah Jahan is two more famous buildings are made on river Yamuna’s bank Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. In Present time the Fort serves as a cantonment for the Indian Army as was during the British rule. A beautiful building with lot of stone work show causing the Mughal and Persian designs. A Beautiful sound and and light show attract a lot of tourists in the evening and takes you to the Mughal history.
Humayun's Tomb :
A UNESCO world heritage site build in the memory of king Humayun by his wife. Build in year 1510 has the graves of Humayun , his wife . the structure is made red stones has a double story and lot of ornament work is worth admiring
Lotus Temple :
Lotus Temple Named after its shape like the lotus flower. Build in 1986 is a famous temple of the Bahai faith. The design is similar to the opera house. Located in south delhi few kms Form the qutab minar. The temple is so quiet that you can hear a pin drop sound also. Every day visited by visitors from all over the world.
Jama Masjid :
Jama Mosque - Build in year 1656 AD the largest and most widely know mosque in india. Big structure in persian and mughal style made of red stone & marbel. On Friday you see lot of devotees here during the namaaz. There is a nice food market in the evening on the stairs of the mosque. Apart from the mosque the other good thing to visit is the “KARIM” the finger licking delicious non-veg food restaurant.its a family run restaurant some 200yrs old.
Jantar Mantar :
Jantar Mantar – Built in 1724 by Maharaja Jai Singh of jaipur. There are total 5 such jantar mantar or the astronomical observatory made in india. The jantar mantar in delhi is located at a prime location near janpath market, palika bhawan, 2010 common wealth game advisory office and the park hotel the architecture is made with red stone and a must see for people who are fascinated by the astronomical science.
Chandni Chowk :
Purani Dilli or the chandni chowk is the oldest part of delhi. A significance of the heritage has witness the rise and down fall of the kingdom. Highly muslim populated area with numerous shops famous for the great artifacts and handicrafts items which are now a legacy left by all the kingdoms who came ruled and left. Rail Transport Museum :
Rail Museum is located in the chankya puri near the embassy area of new delhi. The rail museum is a club house of various models of the trains starting form the british era or the time when the trains were just introduced in india. The train museum is on the top list of school children as they love the short train journey in the toy train.
